One person reads that address. Say which iPhone you are on and what you were doing, and if a page would not read properly, say what was printed on it: the language, and whether it was type, handwriting or something in a very old face.

The page would not read

Recognition runs on the photograph, so it is only as good as the photograph. Flatten the book, keep the whole page inside the frame, and light it from the side rather than straight on so the gutter does not fall into shadow. A page that comes back with lines out of order is usually a page photographed at an angle: the camera crops and de-skews for you, but it needs to see the four corners.

The page number is wrong or missing

Bouky reads the folio out of the head and foot margins rather than counting pages. A page whose margins say nothing stays unnumbered on purpose, because an invented number is worse than none. You can type one in from the page reader's menu, and a number you typed is never overwritten.

A word has no meaning under it

Meanings come from Apple's on-device model. It needs a device that supports Apple Intelligence, and it needs to be switched on in iOS Settings. Bouky says which of the two is missing on the screen where the meaning would have been. Everything else in the app works without it.

The meaning is in the wrong language

Bouky has one language, not two, and the meanings follow it. It is set where iOS sets it: Settings, then Bouky, then Language. Settings, then Meanings inside the app shows which language that currently is and takes you there.

My library is not on my other iPhone

Travelling between devices is part of what a purchase opens, and it goes through your own iCloud rather than through us. Both devices need to be signed into the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive on. A purchase made while the app is open starts travelling at the next launch, because a library cannot be moved onto iCloud while it is open; Settings says so in words rather than leaving the row reading "not syncing".

I paid and Bouky does not know

Open the buying screen and choose Restore a purchase. That asks the App Store again about the Apple Account the phone is signed into. A purchase is held against that account and not against any account of ours, because there is none.

I want my things out

Settings, then Export everything, writes the whole collection as a PDF you keep, with every passage, its book and its page. It is free, it is not gated behind a purchase, and it exists so that leaving is never a problem.

Cancelling

Subscriptions are managed in your Apple Account settings rather than inside Bouky. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and everything you have kept stays where it is. The terms say exactly what changes and what does not.
